PRIVATE MOMMIES SOCIETY (Novel) is the story of Jane Devlin-Damgaard, Senior Producer for the hit show Wow! It’s Your Wedding! Just your typical 30-something Emmy award winning control freak, Jane was living the dream in NYC, until she became a mommy and that’s when everything changed! Motherhood can make you crazy, which is the only explanation she can give for the night she’s introduced to an international, underground, top secret society of moms whose common interests include the dream of going to the bathroom alone with the door closed, and in working together to raise well-balanced, happy, healthy human beings. All of that and they offer free pedicures? She’s in! From the moment she joins, her life gets an H-E-double-L of a lot better! So what if it’s basically like Fight Club, but with naptimes and PTA meetings? With the society's help, Jane is finally able to balance work, marriage and motherhood, and still find time to sleep! Everything was perfect until she had to go and P-I-S-S off the club’s president, and then she learns the true meaning of PMS! With grit and humor on par with The Nanny Diaries, PMS gives a sneak peek into an organization so exclusive that only select moms know it exists. With all the pressures in the world today, managing motherhood, marriage and career can be daunting. Private Mommies Society proves that women really can have it all… with the right entourage.
FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT (Novel) is the story of 25-year-old Lindsay Powers, assistant at one of NYC’s top financial firms, where life was just fine until the FBI busted through the doors, seized everything and arrested her for her connection to the nation’s most notorious Ponzi scandal. After wasting a year of her life and her entire life’s savings to prove her own innocence, Lindsay is forced to start over. But starting over isn’t easy when you share a last name with the man who stole billions and then fled the country to avoid prosecution. Unfortunately for Lindsay, her former boss, the notorious Thomas Powers, is also her father. Unemployed and unable to escape the stigma of her name, Lindsay feels trapped until a friend from Texas makes her an offer she can’t refuse. What starts as a brief escape turns into a lengthy lesson on lying when Lindsay decides to change her identity and go after jobs way out of her league. Using sitcoms, the Internet and For Dummies books to guide her, she tries to fake her way to the top in Texas while convincing the FBI, the media and everyone back home that nothing has changed. Pulling off fraud is hard enough without having to do it in two different time zones! And, to make matters worse, she’s fallen in love with two men - one in each life. Will she manage to untangle her web of lies and find her true self? Or, is she destined to follow in the footsteps of her father?
GOOD WILL (Children’s Picture Book): Packing up clothes that no longer fit is one of the most grueling chores a parent does. It’s not just physically challenging since children grow out of things so quickly, but it’s also emotionally draining as we see our babies growing up so fast right before our eyes! This story, along with illustrations provided by the super talented Melissa Barrett, shows a mother going through this classic rite of passage, while teaching her son the importance of giving back to those in need. The title “Good Will” is a play on donations but also the child’s name is Will and he’s learning a “good” lesson. I hope to make this a series, with each new “Good Will” book teaching a new goodwill lesson.
